Fixed-BPM Music Mixes for Any Fast-Paced Workout
"Travellers' Tales" (146 BPM)
This week we launch Birthday Beats with one of those mixes that seems to take you somewhere. Listen for terrific remixes of "I Feel Love," "She Blinded Me with Science," and "Our House," as well as an epic ending track from Head Honcho, "Walls of Jericho," one of the tracks that got me into this music in the first place.

Running Mates
Red or Blue, They're In the Race
Check out the jaw-dropping campaign poster served up by Podrunner: Intervals' spin doctor DJ Beatsmith after reading the "Running Mates" headline from last week's Run Time newsletter. Even more appropriate because we're running neck and neck on the iTunes charts! This thing is going straight onto my rear windshield (honk if you see me, will ya?). Thank you, DJ Beatsmith!
Groovelectric
Welcome to the New Old Funk
Groovelectric would like it to be publicly known that as a superdelegate it has never accepted any improper funds or gifts, and that it has always driven that gold-plated Cadillac, in keeping with the prestige expected of a highly regarded public figure whose single vote is the equivalent of the votes of 13,000 other, non-super individuals. Checks should be made payable to "Groovelectric, Esq."

Too Much of a Hood Thing
We Got the Groove, and Then Some
We goofed on the print order for the limited run of Groovelectric Hoodies and ended up with twice what we'd intended. Our goof is your gain: You can now order a Groovelectric hoodie from the Sweat Shop! This may be your last chance, cuz once they're gone, we have no idea when we will print any more — if ever!
You can also order Groovelectric tees or ladies' fitted shirts, as well as Podrunner tees in black or white.
Give It a Name
Name the Newsletter Contest
We're at a loss for words — literally. We thought we were so darned clever to name this newsletter Run Time that we have absolutely no idea what to call the Groovelectric & general dj steve boyett newsletter after the split (see the notice at top).
So we thought, heck, let's turn it over to you! Now's your chance to leave your mark on the bleeding edge of new media culture! (ewww). Send in your startlingly brilliant and timeless suggestions to name the new Groovelectric/dj steve boyett newsletter and win a Groovelectric T-shirt and a Podrunner T-shirt if your suggestion is chosen. Yes, it means that much to us!
Deadline is February 29. In the event of a tie, the one received earliest will win. Good luck!
Birthday Presence
Make a Wish
This week marks two years, about 170 mixes, and literally more downloads than we've been able to count since I launched these podcasts on my website because I didn't want to keep sending out demo CDs to get gigs. Be careful what you ask for!
As Podrunner & Groovelectric celebrate their shared second birthday with Birthday Beats and an upcoming Groovelectric exclusive, Podrunner is the #1 music podcast in the world, Podrunner: Intervals is #4, Groovelectric is #52, and we've launched a brand-new podcast that was a hit right out the gate — beating out Michael Jackson and Radiohead, fer cryin' out loud. Plus, we're right about to launch a dedicated Podrunner website and split this newsletter in two because there's so much happening. This is all in the last month, and there's a ton more on the way.
The emails and support I've received from my listeners have been amazing from Day One, and I guarantee you I wouldn't have had the resolve to keep at this without that. I don't think you can keep pounding away at something that has grown this much and takes this much work without sometimes asking yourself Why the hell am I doing this? But y'all make the answer obvious, and it makes the late nights, long negotiations, and mad scrambles absolutely worth the effort. Every time.
