If you feel dizzy while you work out to this one, take off your headphones, cuz it might be the music and not you. This one starts out amped up and just builds from there. It's also fairly trippy, especially when it hits the classic Voyager remix of Francesco Farfa's "Tribe 'n Trance." Considering that this week's Groovelectric is called "Spike the Punch," I must have had an odd week. I'm kinda vague on it, to tell you the truth.

This is not a groovin' stretch of New Old Funk. It isn't one of my long, droney mixes that put you into some kind of headspace. Okay, so what is it?
Good question! It's dark as hell, with a kind of late-night, fried-at-the-edges vibe. There's a lot of tension and release throughout these 65 minutes. I was jumping up & down when I mixed this. It was doing weird things to me, and I thought it felt like someone had spiked the punch. So there ya go.
